Unless noted to the contrary, the cradles in this section are created to be roughly half size of an original cradle. Though the size is reduced, the bead patterns match historical patterns fairly closely. The cradles use buckskin, wood lattice, glass beads, and real brass tacks. They represent one of a kind creations. To produce a fully beaded cradle of this type requires close to 50,000 beads and a significant investment in time by the artist. The result is a magnificent rendition of a work of love done by plains indian women to honor an addition to the family and tribe.
